Who we are
J.J. Meridian Global is based in the Netherlands and acts as controller for personal data where it determines why and how that data is processed. KvK number: 97569291. Privacy enquiries may be sent to info@jjmeridian.com.
Scope
This notice applies to personal data processed in connection with website visitors, enquiries, prospective and existing clients, sponsors, counterparties, advisers, partners and other professional contacts where J.J. Meridian Global is the relevant controller.
Personal data we may process
Depending on the relationship, this may include name, organisation, job title, professional contact details, correspondence, business-relationship information, materials supplied voluntarily in connection with an enquiry or engagement, and limited technical or security information generated by website, email or hosting systems where such information is actually collected. Please avoid sending unnecessary personal data or sensitive personal data unless it is genuinely required for the relevant matter and an appropriate basis for processing exists.
Purposes and lawful bases
J.J. Meridian Global processes personal data only where there is an appropriate legal basis under Article 6 of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679. Depending on the context, processing may be necessary to take steps before entering into a contract or perform a contract, to comply with a legal obligation, or for legitimate interests such as responding to professional enquiries, managing business relationships, protecting systems, maintaining records and developing the firm. Consent is used only where it is the appropriate legal basis and can be withdrawn where applicable.
Sharing and processors
Personal data may be shared where necessary with professional advisers, hosting and technology providers, cloud or email infrastructure, legal and accounting providers, specialist counterparties, regulated partners, and public authorities where disclosure is required or justified. Service providers acting as processors are engaged subject to the requirements of Article 28 GDPR where applicable.
J.J. Meridian Global does not sell personal data.
International transfers
Some service providers or counterparties may process personal data outside the European Economic Area. Where Chapter V GDPR applies, J.J. Meridian Global uses an appropriate transfer mechanism and safeguards required by the circumstances, which may include an adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer basis.
Retention
Personal data is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, the duration and follow-up of a business relationship or engagement, applicable legal or regulatory requirements, accounting and record-keeping obligations, the establishment or defence of legal claims, and proportionate security or operational needs. Retention is reviewed by category and context rather than applying arbitrary periods to all data.
Security and governance
J.J. Meridian Global applies technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature and risk of the processing, including measures relating to confidentiality, access control, data minimisation, integrity, availability and incident handling. Governance is informed by Articles 24, 25 and 32 GDPR and is proportionate to the firm’s systems and processing activities.
Personal data breaches
Potential personal data breaches are assessed and handled under the GDPR. Where Article 33 applies, a qualifying breach is notified to the competent supervisory authority without undue delay and, where feasible, within 72 hours of awareness. Where Article 34 applies, affected individuals are informed without undue delay when the breach is likely to result in a high risk to their rights and freedoms.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions and exceptions in the GDPR, individuals may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, and the right not to be subject to certain solely automated decisions. These rights are reflected principally in Articles 15–22 GDPR. Requests can be sent to info@jjmeridian.com.
Supervisory authority
Individuals may lodge a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or another competent supervisory authority where applicable.
Cookies and similar technologies
The website does not currently use advertising cookies, social-media tracking pixels, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, YouTube embeds or reCAPTCHA. Fonts and other core presentation assets are served locally and do not require requests to Google Fonts.
Hosting, security and WordPress services may process limited technical information necessary to deliver, secure and maintain the website, such as IP addresses, browser information, request logs and security events. If technologies requiring consent are introduced in future, they will not be activated where consent is required until valid consent has been obtained, and this notice will be updated accordingly.
